Anthropic launches Claude Design for AI-powered interfaces

Anthropic has struck again, unveiling Claude Design, an AI tool that can create visuals, presentations and even interactive interfaces for an app project from prompts.

The AI laboratory has launched the new product, Claude Design, on Friday. Following Claude Code for software development and Claude Cowork for automating administrative work, this latest tool is built on Claude Opus 4.7, the AI model Anthropic has also just introduced. It enables users to produce visuals, presentations and even interactive interfaces for an app project with artificial intelligence.

Claude Design for visuals, prototypes and interfaces

While Claude Design makes design available to a wider range of people, experienced practitioners can also use it to work faster. When developing a new product, a company’s design teams can use Claude Design to explore more concepts, build prototypes quickly and gather feedback.

As the demonstration below shows, users can create a complex interface for a future product simply by describing the desired outcome to the AI. They can then make changes or add features using the same approach.

Claude Design is available with Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise subscriptions.

Adobe and Figma shares fall

Following Anthropic’s announcement, Figma, the leading tool for designing interfaces, fell on the stock market. According to Gizmodo, its share price was down 9% on Friday. Since Claude Design can also be used to create visuals, Adobe’s shares also slipped slightly, according to Barron’s.

In any event, the new release further establishes Anthropic’s tools as essential products for businesses. From a financial perspective, this strategy could help Anthropic reach profitability sooner, as businesses and professionals are more likely to pay for a subscription.

Anthropic’s growing business demand

The start-up recently reported accelerating demand for its products. It now claims annualised revenue of $30 billion. Rumours also suggest that Anthropic has received investment offers valuing it at $800 billion. That would bring the AI laboratory closer to OpenAI’s $852 billion valuation, despite Claude having fewer users than ChatGPT.

Moreover, the success of Anthropic’s products is likely to encourage competitors to follow its strategy. For instance, reports suggest Google is already developing an equivalent to Claude Cowork, which would allow “agents” on Gemini to automate office tasks.

What we think

While other companies are aiming at a very broad audience, Anthropic is concentrating on products designed to support workers. As well as offering a faster route to profitability, this business model could also make it easier for this OpenAI competitor to go public.
